Comedy Club – Andrew Bird & Bethany Black + MC Dan Nightingale
Resident host DAN NIGHTINGALE introduces double headliners ANDREW BIRD and BETHANY BLACK
ANDREW BIRD is one of the unsung heroes of the UK comedy circuit, appearing at all of the country’s major clubs. He’s a brilliant headline act who has supported Michael McIntyre, Jon Richardson, Rhod Gilbert and Lee Hurst on their national tours. Andrew is a regular warm-up artist for TV shows including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Room 101, Have I Got News For You and Pointless. He’s also a much in demand writer, having written for series including 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock the Week and Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks.
BETHANY BLACK has been a professional stand-up since 2004. Her debut show Beth Becomes Her detailed the story of her being transgender and was nominated for Best Debut at the 2008 Leicester Comedy Festival, eventually losing out to Sarah Millican. Over the course of her career she’s performed alongside some of the biggest names in comedy, including Alan Carr and Tim Minchin. In 2015 she was cast as Helen in Russell T Davies’ multi channel shows Cucumber, Banana and Tofu, where she was the first trans actress to play a leading role.
DAN NIGHTINGALE, widely regarded as one of the best performers working on the comedy circuit today, is our resident MC. Mixing fiendishly accurate observation with energetic characterisations and killer punch lines, his comedy is original, playful, intelligent, poignant and exciting; sometimes ridiculous… but always hilarious. As well as being a top-class circuit headliner and in-demand MC, he has also performed regular TV warm up for the likes of Jonathan Ross, John Bishop and Celebrity Juice.
